Hyde Park is one of Austin’s most sought-after neighborhoods, known for its tree-lined streets, historic architecture and walkable lifestyle. Our clients loved being just minutes from work, H-E-B, neighborhood restaurants and local shops. The only problem? Their 1937 home no longer supported the way they lived.
Rather than leave a neighborhood they loved, they chose to reinvent the house.
The vision was ambitious. Preserve the character that made the home special while creating spaces designed for modern living. That meant adding a private primary suite with a walk-in closet, a dedicated laundry room, a guest bathroom and a covered back deck complete with an outdoor kitchen for entertaining friends and family.

By the time the project was complete, the only original elements that remained were the hardwood floors and the brick façade. Everything else—from the framing inward—was rebuilt to create a home that honored its past while looking confidently toward the future.

A full interior remodel of every space, including refinishing the historic longleaf pine floors, repairing the historic original Austin brick, new state-of-the-art heat pump HVAC system, insulation, windows, electrical, plumbing, water heater and generator.
